Just Listed in Stone Ranch: 501 Windcrest Drive, Wylie TX
501 Windcrest Drive is a 5-bedroom, 3,444 sq ft home built in 2021 in Wylie's Stone Ranch neighborhood, listed at $650,000. It's in Wylie ISD, minutes from Highway 78 and the George Bush Turnpike, with an open house Saturday, October 3, from 12 to 2 p.m.
This is my second listing in Stone Ranch this year, and I keep coming back to this neighborhood for a reason.
Room for Everyone
501 Windcrest Drive has five bedrooms and 3,444 square feet, built in 2021 on about a fifth of an acre. It's listed at $650,000, which works out to roughly $189 a square foot. Buyers in Frisco and Prosper haven't seen that number on a five-bedroom in a long time.
A Neighborhood With Some History
Stone Ranch is small, about 38 acres just south of downtown Wylie. The community was built around Stonehaven, the Stone family's 1912 home and a Texas Historic Landmark. There's a two-acre park with a walking trail and a barn-themed playground that kids treat like a destination.
Here's the part buyers tend to overlook: the builder is sold out. You get a newer home without living next to an active construction site for the next five years.
Who This Home Fits
This one makes sense for families who have outgrown their first home and need real space without stretching into a western Collin County price point. It also works well for anyone working from home who needs a dedicated office and still wants a guest room for visiting family.
Getting Around From Stone Ranch
Highway 78 and the President George Bush Turnpike are minutes away, which puts Garland, Richardson, and Plano within a reasonable drive. Firewheel Town Center covers most errands, and downtown Wylie is close enough for a weeknight dinner without planning around it. Lake Lavon and Lake Ray Hubbard sit on either side of town, which is where Wylie gets its "City Between the Lakes" nickname.
Schools
The home is in Wylie ISD. I always recommend confirming campus assignments directly with the district before you buy, since boundaries can shift as the area grows.
Open House This Saturday
I'm hosting an open house Saturday, October 3, from 12 to 2 p.m. Come walk through it, ask me anything, and get a feel for the neighborhood in person.
