If you’ve driven past the corner of Dallas North Tollway and Lebanon Road in Frisco over the last few years, you’ve probably wondered what was happening with the old Wade Park site. After years of delays and failed plans, that property is finally coming back to life through one of the most ambitious developments North Texas has seen in years: The Mix.
So what exactly is The Mix, and why are so many people paying attention to it?
The Mix is a 112-acre mixed-use development in Frisco’s North Platinum Corridor designed to combine residential living, retail, office space, hotels, restaurants, entertainment, and public gathering areas into one large walkable district. Think less “shopping center” and more “mini city.”
The project is being built on the former Wade Park site, which became one of Frisco’s most well-known stalled developments after construction stopped years ago. Now, with backing from the City of Frisco and a redevelopment agreement reportedly worth up to $113.4 million, construction is actively moving forward.
Current plans for the full development include:
- More than 2 million square feet of office space
- Roughly 375,000 square feet of retail and dining
- Multiple hotels
- Thousands of residential units
- Large public parks and green space
- Entertainment and lifestyle-focused experiences
One of the biggest headlines tied to Phase 1 is Frisco’s first Whole Foods location, which is expected to become a major retail anchor for the area.
